These hazelnuts come from the village of Yukaritepe in the Ordu region of Turkey. Mehmet Bedir is a typical farmer, and one of 65 in this project. Unfortunately we have not identified the woman in the photo. The average farm size is 13 acres producing just eight tons of shelled hazelnuts.
